Five-year mission
...to explore strange new worlds...

Happy anniversary to spiritrover and opportunitygrrl! Still exploring Mars five years into their 90-day mission!

Here's a cool video summarizing the mission so far: http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/Rovers_5_years/

And unlike *some* five-year missions, they completed five full years!

(And greatly in excess of design lifetime. Boy, imagine how much lighter they could have been, or how many other functions they could have had, if they'd realized they were this badly over-built!!!! :-) )

Sing along!

Rovin', rovin', rovin',
Look at where they're going,
Keep them robots rovin',
NASA!
Rocks and wind and sunsets,
Hell-bent, oh you bet,
Wishin' some bug would walk on by.
All those sign of water,
Ice maybe, dig, we ought'er,
I'm looking at the pictures, oh my!

CHORUS
Build some more, send 'em up,
Send 'em up, build some more,
Build some more, send 'em up,
NASA!
Land 'em down, rove 'em round,
Rove 'em round, land 'em down,
Let's go there, ride 'em now,
NASA!
